Do you want to honor Christ’s body? Then do not scorn him in his nakedness, nor honor him here in the church with silken garments while neglecting him outside where he is cold and naked. For he who said: This is my body, and made it so by his words, also said: ‘You saw me hungry and did not feed me, and inasmuch as you did not do it for one of these, the least of my brothers, you did not do it for me.’
— John Chrysostom

The Dorothy Jones Food Closet

Calvary has been the food arm of the Help Ministries of Central Louisville since at least 1970. . Again, it’s responding to the economy through the generosity of parishioners and friends that generate this fantastic outreach project. We are indebted also to our volunteers, who carry the load every morning.

Millie Cary Clothes Closet

The Calvary Clothes Closet, founded in 1994 by Millie Cary and other caring people, continues to serve those who lack clothing.

Clothing donations come from everywhere. Calvary parishioners, members of other churches, and others who hear about our project all bring in clothing. We are gratified when the clothing is brought in clean and on hangers! As more and more people see our clothes displays (food clients, those who come for meetings and rehearsals and recitals), we receive more and more clothing – and give more and more away! Calvary’s Clothes Closet is indeed a flourishing ministry for those in need in our neighborhood. Keep the donations coming, especially WARM CLOTHING.
