May and June have been busy months at Calvary! We bade a fond farewell to Father Hines and happily welcomed Father Erdman and his family.
Jim Barnes reported that Anita House is in the process of attaining Notary certification.
Callie Hausman reported that Christian Formation has recessed for the summer, while Margaret Dickinson reminded that the adult choir has not!
Two receptions are planned for consecutive weeks (June 27th and July 4th). The first is a farewell to Father Hines and the following week is a welcome to Father Erdman
The Senior Warden reported that two teams are set up to facilitate the Erdman family’s transition to Louisville. The first team will address immediate needs for the first 14 days (such as providing dinner). The second team will address assimilation into the congregation – particularly ‘Meet and Greet’ events with parishioners.
The Worship Committee reported that Father Erdman’s official installation will take place on Holy Cross Day in September.
Editor’s Note: The actual date will be September 7, a Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. The original date was changed so Bishop Gulick could officiate.
The Property Committee is meeting every two weeks for the duration of the current renovations. A representative from Conrad Schmitt restoration company will be meeting with Will Cary at Calvary to take a photo survey and prepare a written condition report.
The Property Committee submitted a report on the 3rd Street property. The Vestry moved to negotiate in good faith a new rental agreement with Sally Reisz that shall be effective October 1, 2010.
Ben Small submitted a report on the renovations to the kitchen and Frazier Hall. Currently the appliances have all been installed and the kitchen is functional. Work has begun on the new flooring. Wiring has been installed for the new PA system. As of the June meeting the project was on target and on budget.
Will Vail reported that the Tryons will be the new Stewardship Chairs. As of the June meeting all Stewardship materials had been transferred to their possession.
The Communications Committee requested feedback on the implementation of various communication changes, including revisions to the website.
Financial statements for April and May were presented and accepted.
The Finance Committee presented revised Calvary Secular/Nonsecular Use Policies.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Vestry is July 27, 2010 @ 5:15 PM. in Parker Hall.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Redden, Secretary
