Hospitality/Coffee Hour Guidelines
Hosts Provide:
- Half and Half or Liquid Coffee Creamer
- 2 or 3 of the following to serve 50-75 people (cost estimate $20-$25)
Cookies, Cheese and Crackers, Muffins, Chips and Dip, Pastry, Nuts, Pretzels/Snack Crackers/Goldfish - Optional choices
Fruit, Sandwiches, Vegetables, Juice/Punch
Supplies Available at Church:
Coffee, Sugar, Serving Dishes, Doilies, Tablecloth, Baggies, Small Paper Plates, Plastic Wrap, Cocktail Napkins, Aluminum Foil
Preparation:
- Put out coffee cups, sugar and cream
- Set table with tablecloth, plates, napkins and plastic utensils/toothpicks as needed
- Prepare food and place in serving dishes on the serving table
Clean Up:
- Unplug coffee pot
- Gather and throw away trash
- Gather dirty dishes and place them on the counter near the dishwasher to be washed Monday morning
- Wipe off serving table and kitchen counters with disinfectant spray
Tips for Coffee Hour Hosts:
- Keep the fare simple
- Find a Coffee Hour teammate to share the duty
- A Coffee Hour team may consist of one who pays for food and one who prepares and serves it
- Locate the Coffee Hour supplies before your Sunday
- Your food contribution can be supplemented with donated food found in the church kitchen or freezer
- If you need help with food preparation or set up on Sunday morning Sally Reisz, Lou Henson, Laina Brown or Marion Six are always happy to assist
- If church linens are used they should be cleaned and returned to church
