Worship at Calvary
Worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness

There are many different kinds of worship in the Episcopal Church.
Our tradition has a rich life of prayer and worship. Our liturgies draw on the rich traditions of the church and reflect the manner in which Christians have been worshiping for generations. Calvary follows the order of worship the 1979 Book of Common Prayer.
Sunday Worship
The Holy Eucharist, also known as “the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion, or the Mass,” (Book of Common Prayer, p 859) is the core of the Episcopal Church’s worship. We gather to celebrate Christ in the sacrament of his body and blood.

10:30 in the morning, Rite II
The 10:30 am service celebrates the Holy Eucharist in Rite II (contemporary language). Depending on the liturgical calendar and feast days, there may be differences in the service style.
Children's Worship
Children are invited to participate in a liturgy just for them. We meet in the narthex before the service, joining behind the clergy and the Children's Cross to process through the church up to the Children’s Chapel, Room 204, returning to their families in church during the Peace to be present to share the Eucharist. Our vision for Children’s Worship is to introduce the children to the service in an age appropriate setting while allowing them the opportunity to share and explore the liturgy together. During the service (for children age 4 +) hear or experience a story (usually the Gospel or other lectionary options) with time to respond creatively and enjoy a snack. Most important of all is the knowledge and awareness that God is love, that we are loved, and that we are in a safe and loving community together, sharing our understanding of Jesus’ lessons in our lives.
